As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in leading complex mechanical design projects from concept to production, ensuring quality, safety, and innovation remain at the forefront. You’ll mentor talented junior engineers, standardise design systems, and help shape the future of automation within our organisation.

What you’ll be doing
*
* Lead the mechanical design of automated and manual loading systems from concept through to production
* Oversee detailed design, ensuring manufacturability, quality, and compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and CE standards
* Mentor and guide junior design engineers, embedding best practices and promoting a culture of excellence
* Standardise and optimise designs through continuous improvement and value engineering
* Provide technical support and analysis for root cause investigations and design improvements
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to align projects with company strategy
* Support the implementation of DriveWorks and structured design systems
What you’ll bring
*
* Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within manufacturing, automation, or industrial machinery
* Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative, solutions-focused approach
* Excellent communication and leadership skills to mentor and influence others
* Commitment to environmental and safety standards
* Desirable: Experience with DriveWorks or similar design automation tools
