is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our team at an NHS hospital in Romney Marsh, Kent.
As a Registered General Nurse (RGN) in various departments of a multi-specialty NHS Hospital, you will provide high-quality nursing care in settings such as wards, clinics, and the community. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care that meets physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
Responsibilities
1. Patient Assessment and Care:
o Perform triage, take patient histories, conduct examinations, and provide ongoing care.
o Administer treatments and medications, monitor progress, and adjust care as needed.
2. Clinical Interventions:
o Provide interventions like cannulation, venepuncture, ECGs, wound care, and assist in minor procedures.
o Support life-saving procedures such as CPR and airway management.
3. Monitoring and Documentation:
o Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and document care activities accurately.
o Update care plans and communicate effectively with the team.
4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
o Work closely with doctors, consultants, and other professionals to ensure seamless care.
o Participate in handovers for smooth patient transitions.
5. Infection Control and Safety:
o Follow infection control protocols and hospital safety policies.
6. Discharge Planning:
o Assist with discharge procedures, providing aftercare advice and arranging follow-ups.
7. Legal and Ethical Practice:
o Ensure practice aligns with NMC standards and legal requirements.
o Obtain informed consent ethically and legally.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Valid NMC registration and membership.
* At least 6 months' UK experience as an RGN in a general medicine ward.
* Valid UK visa permitting work as an RGN.
* Vaccinations against Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TB, and COVID-19.
* Desirable: Valid UK driving license.
* Valid DBS certificate, registered on the update service.
