Role: Art Teacher
Location: Jubilee School, Waterlooville PO7 7RE
Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start: January 2025

As part of our continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for an Art Teacher to join our close-knit team at Jubilee School, part of Acorn Education.
About The Role
Working at Jubilee School as an Art Teacher you would be required to:
* To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Headteacher
* To teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum
* In consultation with the Headteacher undertake other identified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of the school’s curriculum
Knowledge and Understanding
* The school’s aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies and action plans;
* Any statutory curriculum requirements and the requirements for assessment, recording and reporting of pupils attainment and progress;
* The characteristics of high quality teaching and the main strategies for improving and sustaining high standards of teaching, learning and achievement for all pupils;
* Management, including employment law, equal opportunities legislation, personnel, external relations, finance and change;
* The implications of the code of practice of special educational needs for teaching and learning.
Planning and Target Setting – Expectations
* Set appropriate and achievable expectations and targets for pupils in relation to standards of pupil achievements and the quality of teaching.
* Work with the Headteacher and other staff to ensure that Individual Education Plans are used to set subject-specific targets and match work to pupil’s needs.
* Establish with relevant staff, short, medium and long-term plans for the development and resourcing of all subjects taught, which:
o Contribute to whole-school aims, policies and practices including those related to behaviour, discipline, bullying and racial harassment
o Are based on a range of information and evidence, including pupil attainment
o Identify realistic and challenging targets for improvement
o Are understood by all involved and include action to be taken, timelines and success criteria
Qualifications
* UK QTS or equivalent

Jubilee School is linked with four residential accommodations and is located in Waterlooville, just outside Portsmouth. Note on 4DWW
You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay. The 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit.
