Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. 1st Level Registered nurse/Midwife /AHP on relevant part of the Register.
2. First Degree or equivalent
3. Accredited management/leadership training or evidence of practical application of expertise at this level
Desirable criteria
4. Masters degree
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Proven track record of operational management in the acute healthcare setting managing a ward / service/ department. Including staff, financial/budgetary and change management.
6. Experience in the acute healthcare setting in clinical leadership/clinical management position
7. Experience of being accountable for the delivery of a clinical/nursing service
Desirable criteria
8. Experience writing clinical policies and procedures.
Technical Skills
Essential criteria
9. Ability to demonstrate expert clinical and nursing knowledge
10. Detailed knowledge of current nursing issues
11. Ability to effectively manage resources to deliver sustained improvement
12. Ability and experience of delivering highly sensitive or distressing news to patients, relatives and staff
Desirable criteria
13. Demonstrable experience of achieving financial savings without compromising clinical care.
14. Ability to write reports
