The ideal candidate will already be CTA qualified, but other relevant qualifications or experience will be considered. CTA study support will be available for the right candidate. Job Role Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with the wider payroll team and your own portfolio of clients and carrying out their payroll duties as and when required. Some of your key respons ibilities will be : Providing tax advisory and tax compliance services to the Firms private client base. Supporting the technical and personal development of the tax team. Reviewing Tax Returns prepared by other members of the team. Managing the Firms CGT on UK Property Returns service. Proactively identifying opportunities for restructuring clients' tax affairs. Depending on experience, providing specialist tax advice to clients in areas such as IHT planning, wealth structuring, succession planning, transactions in securities, choice of business vehicle and general owner-manged business tax advice as it affects the shareholders/owners. Developing the firms MTD offering through the pilot stage and supporting our clients through this transition. Dealing with HMRC on tax investigations. Working closely with the Tax Partner and acting as first point of contact for private clients. Ongoing review of compliance processes within the department, ensuring best practice. Managing the departments IT strategy, including ensuring that all the software used is fit for purpose, evaluating new products that may be of interest and driving the firms MTD offering. Attending weekly manager meetings and working with the leadership team on firm-wide projects from time to time. Am I the right fit? We are looking for candidates with a strong desire to learn and succeed within the role. Here is what we are looking for in an ideal candidate: Preferably CTA qualified (but all candidates with the relevant skillset and experience welcome to apply). A high level of technical knowledge, and experience with using online technical resources to research and summarise complex issues for partners and clients. Genuine enthusiasm for developing relationships with clients and acting as a Trusted Adviser. Experience of leading a Private Client Tax team, or for Assistant Managers looking to take a step up, experience of leadership at project level or in a particular field of specialism. Ability to manage workflow for the department in a busy and demanding environment, and to manage and prioritise own workload. Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to adapt your style to suit a variety of audiences. Interested?
