TheCorporate General Manager is a member of the Corporate Operations team. Thepurpose is to plan and organise a broad range of complex activities orprogrammes, and will provide leadership to a defined strategic generalmanagement portfolio to support the delivery of high quality clinicalservices and the effective day to day operational management across theTrust.
TheCorporate General Manager will support the Director of Operations, DeputyChief Nurse and Deputy Chief Medical Officer and the Assistant Directors byproviding a senior general management resource, capable of co-ordinatingprojects and initiatives, delivery of business, workforce and financialplanning as well as handling ad hoc issues delegated by the CorporateOperations team.
Theywill make judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, whichrequire the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.

Main duties of the job
Work within the CorporateOperations Team to provide operational business management and planningsupport.

Supporting CSUs to achieve thenational cancer standards, through a number of mechanisms including pathwayre-design and performance management.
Provision of performance, Peerreview, COSD and audit information and analysis to MDTs, CSUs, Trust CancerBoard and Corporate Operations team relating to cancer
Lead, on behalf of the Trust, workwith external partners on issues such as pathway re-design, development ofInter Provider Transfers and implementation of breach allocation guidance andwork to understand the impact of and implement the sustainability andtransformation plan for WYAAT in relation to cancer services.
Peerreview and the Improving Outcomes Guides (IOGs)
Leadership of the Trustspreparation for the peer review of its cancer services.
Delivery of the action plansarising from peer reviews
Project management and leadershipof the work to ensure Trust compliance with the emerging IOGs.
TheLeeds Cancer Centre (LCC)
Responsibility for management anddevelopment of the cancer information system, and its use across the Trust.
Provision of a cancer singlecontact point for the referring cancer units across the WYATT, Harrogate andYork district and support the Cancer Alliance in their work to improve theircancer services and national target performance.
Management of the production of theLCC annual report.
Provision of an operating frameworkand performance management process for the CSUs to support the centralmanagement but local support of the MDT co-ordination staff.

Experience
* Significant experience of: Successful leadership Understanding and application of service improvement techniques.
* A range of management disciplines and legislation relevant to job e.g. H&S, HR.
* Successful operational management at a middle/senior management level.
* Sound financial management
* Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
* Personal resilience and ability to prioritise work to meet challenging deadlines.
