About The Job
We are currently recruiting for Traffic Officers to be based at Bray, SL6 2HT.
You will provide a customer-focused service through effective management of the strategic road network by dealing with incidents such as road traffic collisions, debris removal, and other unplanned events.
Our Traffic Officers operate 24/7, 365 days a year, working 6 days on, 3 days off, with shifts including:
* 3 early shifts (6am - 2:26pm)
* 3 late shifts (2pm - 10:26pm)
* 3 nights (10pm - 6:26am)
* Rest days in between
The starting salary is up to £36,562.50 (including base salary, 25% shift allowance, and £1500 RRA), increasing to up to £38,012.50 after 9 months probation.
Responsibilities include:
1. Responding to incidents on the strategic road network with safe and timely actions, including deploying traffic management and collaborating with emergency services.
2. Contributing proactively within a team to meet performance targets.
3. Communicating via radio and mobile telephony to provide accurate scene updates to colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
4. Ensuring safety for yourself and others by reporting and acting on unsafe activities or conditions.
5. Maintaining records of vehicles and equipment.
About You
* Full driving licence with no more than 3 points, as driving is required.
* Reside within one hour's commute of the vacancy location.
* Experience in motorway driving.
* Knowledge of workplace safety and contributing to safety protocols.
* Ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
* Self-motivated team player.
* Experience working independently without supervision.
