Overview

Train to Teach with Leverhulme Academy Trust

Earn while you train to become a teacher.

Our Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship programme offers graduates the opportunity to train as a Maths, Computing, Physics or Chemistry teacher through a fully funded, school-based route.

You will spend one academic year working in one of our schools while completing your teacher training, combining practical classroom experience with academic study.

We will pay you a salary of £22,600 while you train, and your £9,000 training costs will be fully funded through our apprenticeship levy, meaning there are no tuition fees.

On completion of the programme, you will achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and, if you choose to continue your career with us, move onto the qualified teacher pay scale as part of our Early Career Teacher (ECT) programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you train, gain a recognised teaching qualification, and begin your career within a supportive and ambitious academy trust.

Why teach?

If you are a graduate in Maths, Physics, Computing or Chemistry, your skills are highly valued in many industries. Teaching offers a unique opportunity to use that expertise to inspire the next generation, develop your leadership and communication skills, and make a lasting difference in young people’s lives.

Many teachers go on to develop specialist subject leadership roles as their careers progress, shaping curriculum, supporting colleagues and influencing the direction of their subject across a school or trust.
