Overview
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Tyne and Wear. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, including those with SEMH, MLD, and SLD. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring with a flexible, holistic, trauma-informed approach.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support children referred by local authorities and schools through flexible, holistic tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each teaching / tutoring / mentoring session
* Deliver holistic, engaging sessions that meet each young person’s needs and progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote work

SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status
* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer a fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring / self-employed teaching position
