Sacred Heart Primary School is a two form-entry primary school in Tipton for children from 3 to 11 years of age. The Governors and Head Teacher of Sacred Heart Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant), to support our team to deliver learning activities to whole classes in the absence of the teacher, e.g. during PPA time, cover for unplanned staff absences and staff training courses, ensuring that high levels of behaviour and engagement are upheld. The successful candidate will: Have high expectations and a positive outlook. To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupil’s achievement, progress and development. Responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school and/or management of other teaching assistants including allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training. Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupil’s learning. Develop and Implement interventions according to Pupil Passports/EHCPs and Learning Plans. Recognise own strengths and areas of specialist expertise and use these to lead, advise and support others. Manage other teaching assistants. Liaise with Managers/SENDCo/teaching staff and teaching assistants Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post to assist the Thematic Area in the fulfilment of its objectives commensurate with the post holder's salary grade, abilities and aptitudes Be an outstanding practitioner who is eager to make a positive difference. Grade: Grade E, SCP 18-25 (£31,537 - £36,363 p.a.) Actual Salary - £28,262 - £33,566 p.a.
