Lead Mechanical Engineer -Chilmark (3 days) - £70,000 I was told by a current employee of this business that they’ve never worked in a team with such a high level of collaboration between designers and manufacturing. In this role you’ll help design and build UAV Platforms. The designers work extremely close with manufacturing to see the product end-to-end and understand how to make things 1% better. All the design and build is in one place and they can fly their aircraft just down the road. So they have a very unique ability to design, build, test )and break!) and go again. It’s rapid prototyping and a set up that allows them to be quick, dynamic, fail fast in their engineering and reiterate where needed. This position is a lead role. 60% Hands-on in design and 40% leadership of 2-3 engineers initially. You’ll work in “Air vehicle design” and have a mech design lean in your day-to-day. The wider team cover a broad spectrum of specialisms from Propulsion Systems to AirFlow, LFD, integration and productization. Ideally you’d be an out and out mech designer with this kind of background: SolidWorks Leadership of 2 Engineers DfM principles Experience on electro-mechanical systems / UAVs / Aerospace It’s highly desirable but not essential to have 3D printing, CNC milling, Structural design and systems engineering experience. These positions requires SC as you’ll be working on the next generation of aircraft for military application, working 3 days a week from the Salisbury office. For immediate consideration, please apply.
