We are seeking a skilled Metal Worker to join our small family manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing metal components with precision and attention to detail. The successful applicant will be involved in various tasks working with sheet metal, contributing to the production of high-quality products.
Responsibilities
Fabricate metal parts and components according to technical drawings and specifications.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal pieces.
Grind and finish surfaces to achieve the desired smoothness and appearance.
Handle sheet metal with care, ensuring precise measurements and accurate cuts.
Assist in the assembly of metal parts or finished products as required.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety standards.
Conduct accurate measurements using callipers, and other measuring devices, ensuring precision.
Ensure all work meets required quality standards and tolerances.
Follow safety protocols at all times during fabrication and assembly processes.
Perform drilling and tapping operations on sheet metal components.
Carry out linishing to produce smooth, high-quality metal surfaces.
Work with a variety of materials, including aluminium, mild steel, and stainless steel .
Conduct spot welding to assemble and join sheet metal parts.
Perform countersinking on sheet metal to meet design and assembly requirements.
Qualifications
Proven experience in fabrication, grinding, or related metalworking skills
Mechanical knowledge of tools, machinery, and basic maintenance procedures
Familiarity with sheet metal work and the use of hand tools.
Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications accurately
Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work tasks
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Prior experience with assembly processes is advantageous but not essential
