Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming and inclusive Secondary School in Middleton that is seeking a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team with an immediate start.
This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people in a secondary school environment and making a positive impact on pupils' learning and wellbeing. Only applicants with prior experience working in schools or within the education sector will be considered.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting students with their learning across a range of subjects
2. Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
3. Providing 1:1 support where required, including for SEN or additional needs pupils
4. Assisting with classroom behaviour management and engagement
5. Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
6. Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
7. Have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role within a secondary school or education setting
8. Be confident supporting students across KS3 and KS4
9. Demonstrate strong communication and behaviour management skills
10. Be patient, adaptable and enthusiastic about supporting young people
11. Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Please note: Candidates without school or education-based experience will not be shortlisted.
