As a specialist mentor you will be working on a one to one basis with students in university by being their trusted advisor and supporting them. These can be factors which are impacting their personal life as well as their academic life.This includes a range of things such as managing their stress, anxiety, assisting with organisational skills. ...
Responsibilities:
As a specialist mentor you will be required to do the following when working one to one with students:
1. Help them to achieve an appropriate balance activities of everyday living and academic related tasks
2. Improve organisational skills such as time management
3. Assist students in preparing for their deadlines by breaking down tasks into smaller parts for them
4. Help to manage anxiety and cope with anxiety and stress caused by study related issues and/or everyday living.
5. Help students with reflecting on their own experiences
6. Improve students confidence by building on their existing strengths
7. Assist in preparing students for new experiences which they may be nervous going into
8. Work closely with Randstad ensure any concerns with students are communicated as soon as possible
9. Behave in a professional and confidential manner at all times
Requirements:
This is a specialist role so you must have the following qualifications:
10. Holds a degree AND
11. Six National Autistic Society (NAS) online training modules
12. Understanding autism
13. Autism and communication
14. Autism and sensory experience
15. Autism, stress and anxiety
16. Autism: supporting families
17. Autism and Girls
