Overview
The post holder will participate in a non-resident on-call rota. Current pay supplement: 5%. This post will attract a salary of £96,990 - £107,155 per annum based on full-time hours. This is a full-time position, however anyone interested in working part-time / job share are also welcome to apply. This post has an attractive annual leave entitlement of a minimum of 27 days per annum and up to a maximum of 31 days per annum (depending on previous experience) rising to 31 after 7 years’ service (in the Specialist Grade or Specialty Doctor).
Duties of the Post
* Specialist elective outpatient clinics. General fracture clinics Independent elective and trauma theatre lists. Lead clinician in overseeing the middle tier & junior staff rotas with responsibility of ensuring optimal use of theatres and outpatient clinics.
* May be required to provide on-call cover in extenuating circumstances.
T&O on-call responsibilities are as follows:
* Urgent assessment and management of trauma patients in the Emergency department. Treatment of closed fractures by manipulation and plaster application. Admission and preparation of patients requiring surgery. Care for postoperative inpatients. Telephone advice to peripheral hospital doctors. Decision making regarding transfer of patients to RVH
