Cogent Staffing are currently seeking a motivated Furnace Operator to join our client's dynamic team, in the HaIifax area. Working Hours Core hours: Hours during training (typically 3 months) MonThurs 07:3016:30, Fri 07:3013:30. Shift work will be applicable. These include 0500 1400 and 10:0019:00. Night coverage will be required when night staff are on training or on annual leave. Temporary to permanent opportunity. £13.00 - £13.50ph If required to work the Night shift: 18% uplift Overtime: first 2 hours paid at time 1/3 Beyond 2 hours paid at time Weekly pay. Key Responsibilities: Prepare materials and jigging for heat treatment processes. Operate furnaces and adhere to provided instructions. Conduct manual handling, crane, and forklift operations. Perform routine checks on furnaces and processes. Utilize control documents and manage scanning paperwork. Execute cleaning, shot-blasting, and packing tasks for dispatch. Carry out minor maintenance tasks and safety checks. Maintain general housekeeping and comply with PPE regulations. Qualifications: Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset. Excellent timekeeping and team ethics. Ability to follow schedules and work instructions carefully. Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes. Basic computer literacy.
