Area Sales Manager – UK & Ireland
WHC Lab Group is a biotechnology company specializing in fermentation, with deep expertise in yeast, bacteria, enzymes and innovative fermentation products and services.
We are now seeking a commercially driven Area Sales Manager to lead growth across the UK & Ireland within our biotech ingredients portfolio.
The Role
You will lead sales of specialty fermentation ingredients including yeast extracts and peptones, targeting producers of bacteria, enzymes, and bio‑fermented proteins.
Working remotely, you will:
* Develop and execute regional sales strategies
* Manage and grow key accounts
* Identify and convert new business opportunities
* Position technical ingredients as critical solutions for advanced biotech applications
* Manage pipeline reporting and performance metrics
* Collaborate cross‑functionally to align commercial objectives
Skills & Experience
We are looking for a technical sales professional who can confidently bridge science and commerce.
* 5+ years direct sales experience
* Background in biotech, fermentation, or related industries (knowledge of bacteria/enzyme production highly desirable)
* Strong customer relationship management skills
* Proven ability to manage a remote territory independently
* Comfortable working with data, reporting tools, and structured sales processes
* Self‑motivated, disciplined, and adaptable in a fast‑moving environment
* Fluent in English (additional European languages are a plus)
