With a turnover of over £60 million, continued learner growth and strong financial health, the College plays a significant role in delivering technical, vocational and higher education across the region. Around 13,000 learners study with us each year across our campuses in Solihull and Stratford-upon-Avon. As we prepare to launch the next strategic plan for 2026 – 2028, Governors appointed now will have oversight of the delivery of the next phase of the strategic plan. This is a rewarding, voluntary, unpaid board-level opportunity with genuine influence and responsibility. The Role The Corporation is responsible for overseeing the College’s strategic direction and holding the Executive Management Team to account for performance, finance, quality and risk. Corporation meetings rotate between Blossomfield Campus in Solihull, Woodlands and Stratford campuses. Who We Are Looking For We welcome applications from experienced professionals with strategic-level management experience in medium or large organisations. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in: Human Resources - workforce strategy, organisational development or people management Finance – planning, investment or financial oversight Public Relations and Communications – reputation, engagement, strategic communications Legal - including corporate, regulatory or compliance You may already have governance experience, or you may be looking to contribute your skills in a board setting for the first time. Time Commitment Governors are appointed for an initial four-year term. The role requires approximately two days per month and includes: Seven in-person Corporation meetings per year Committee meetings, Special Interest Groups and briefings generally held via Microsoft Teams Occasional in-person learning visits and focus groups Governors must be willing to travel across all campuses when required.
