Mission
OSI Maritime Systems are developing a new product line to supplement their established products; WECDIS, ECPINS and Integrated Bridge Systems. OSI Maritime are seeking two systems engineers, with MBSE experience. The candidates will be joining a small UK based team as we transition from product concept through to project delivery. This is a unique opportunity to join a product team early and influence the development of a world leading maritime systems integrator in the defense sector
Responsibilities
The candidate will be working in an MBSE environment, using SysML in SparxEA and be expected to take the lead in one of the three areas; Requirements Engineering, Model Based Systems Engineering or Software Engineering. The ideal candidate would be able to support the team in another area.
Requirements Engineering:
1. Develop conceptual requirements for the new product, Op Con, CONOPS;
2. Define the required capabilities, and develop the product system requirements
3. Work with customers to identify customer requirements, develop use cases, and the customer project system requirements
4. Support gap analysis between product and project requirements
5. Establish the Acceptance Criteria, identify verification and validation activities
6. Performs requirement analysis, traceability and maintenance of requirements
Model Based Systems Engineering:
7. Develop/Maintain the IMMS product model using SysML in SparxEA
8. Develop Product System Design (Logical/Physical) from Product requirements/use cases
9. Develop Project System Design (Logical/Physical)
10. Co-ordinate with specialist engineers (ILS, Safety, Security, HF, …)
11. Support development of prototypes
12. Solution definition; creating the most suitable sensor, effector, functionality combination
13. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system
14. Support testing design and development
15. Generate Customer facing documentation from the model (e.g. SSDD, ICDs, SRS)
Software Engineering:
16. Develop the software architecture
17. Identify software requirements for IMMS
18. Develop software designs for IMMS
19. Identify changes/integration with existing software
20. Develop prototype software
21. Develop production software
22. Identify/Develop Software Testing strategy
23. Support Software testing
Knowledge and Qualifications
A candidate must have experience working in an MBSE environment, ideally using SysML in SparxEA and be able to demonstrate the appropriate level of expertise in at least one of the desired skill sets; Requirements Engineering (REQM 5), MBSE System Design (DESN 4 / ARCH 4) and/or Software Engineering (SWDN4 / PROG 4). The SFIA skill levels are provided for guidance only.
24. Degree in Engineering or Physics, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
25. 5+ years of experience designing and engineering solutions either in a Naval, government or industry role.
26. Proven track record in the timely delivery of engineering related projects.
27. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
28. Eligible to obtain and maintain a location relevant security clearance.
29. Willingness and ability to travel.
In addition, the following experience would be advantageous:
30. Excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards and best practices (INCOSE, or equivalent).
31. Working experience in network design and architecture.
32. Knowledge/Experience developing or using Mission Management, Combat sensors and/or Weapon Systems.
33. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, safety, security and/or human factors engineering is an asset.
