Job Summary
As a Project Team Manager (PTM) you will manage and support a high‑performing technical team within the Projects & Programme Delivery (PPD) group.
Responsibilities
* Team Leadership: Line management of a technical team, including recruitment, resource planning, onboarding, and inductions.
* Development & Support: Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to help the team thrive.
* Programme Management: Oversee a portfolio of work within your area, ensuring projects stay on track and resolve or escape issues that cannot be addressed by project teams.
* Collaboration: Build strong relationships across the department and wider organisation to enable smooth delivery of projects.
* Performance Oversight: Monitor progress at a project level within your portfolio and implement corrective measures where needed.
* Risk & Contract Management: Support project, contract and risk‑management decisions and ensure new starters and existing team members obtain necessary training.
Qualifications & Experience
* Essential:
* Passionate and effective leader with a proven track record of creating positive working environments.
* Significant line‑management experience in a large organisation, including onboarding, induction and development.
* Adept at developing people, managing performance and delivering through others.
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills for managing relationships with colleagues and external partners.
* Experience in project, contract and people‑management within fast‑paced, complex delivery environments.
* Track record of delivering results on challenging projects through effective coordination of technical teams.
* Desirable:
* Flood and coastal risk management or construction programme resourcing experience.
* Relevant professional Chartered membership.
* Experience in programme and project management, resource planning and risk management.
* Ability to inspire and motivate others with big‑picture thinking that improves operations.

Location & Working Arrangements
Base location can be flexible within the South Eastern Hub with an expectation of occasional co‑location with Hub or delivery partner offices.
