Multi-Skilled Plant Technician (Loading Shovel Certified) Location: Cheshire Full-Time | Permanent About the Role: We are seeking a multi-skilled plant technician with a mechanical bias to join our rapidly growing and dynamic company. This is a vital role where you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our plant facilities. You will work closely with the Senior Glass Technicians, carrying out a wide range of duties including loading/unloading, driving, maintenance, and supporting production targets — all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities: * Safely load and unload products in the yard area, working effectively as part of a team * Carry out driving duties, transporting materials around site and loading vehicles outdoors * Operate plant equipment including loading shovels and access platforms (valid license required) * Support routine maintenance, production levels, and quality targets under direction of Senior Glass Technicians * Assist with repairs, breakdowns, and safe operation of equipment, machinery, and site vehicles * Develop and maintain process documentation, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and reliability standards * Provide flexibility across technician roles throughout the plant * Maintain high housekeeping standards and assist during plant shutdowns * Identify and escalate plant quality or reliability issues in line with downtime procedures About You We’re looking for someone who is: * Experienced in plant operations with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes * Safety-conscious, diligent, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment * A strong communicator, able to work effectively within a team * Holder of a valid Loading Shovel certificate (essential) * NVQ in Waste Management or equivalent (desirable, but full training will be provided) Benefits & Rewards: * Weekly salary of £724.90 (£16.71/hour) — equating to £37,694 per annum * All overtime paid at time and a half * 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (12-hour shifts, 6am–6pm or 6pm–6am) * 2 unpaid 30-minute breaks per shift, but only 40 minutes deducted in total * Continuous rota: block of days, 4 off, then block of nights * 20 days annual leave (once permanent) * Free private medical insurance after qualifying period * Enrolment into The People’s Pension fund once permanent What We Offer: * Competitive salary and benefits package * Full training and development opportunities * A chance to be part of a rapidly expanding company with long-term career prospects * A supportive team environment where safety and quality are top priorities Apply Now: If you’re a motivated and skilled technician ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you.
