HGV Depot Manager – Hook
Salary : £50,000 – £60,000 per annum + Car Allowance
Hours : Monday to Friday, Full-Time

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive HGV Depot Manager to lead operations at our busy depot in Hook.
This is a hands‑on leadership role overseeing all aspects of workshop performance, team management, compliance, and customer service.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for depot efficiency, safety, and profitability, ensuring vehicles are maintained and repaired to the highest standards while driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day depot operations, ensuring effective scheduling and workflow across the workshop.
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of technicians, service advisors, and support staff.
* Oversee all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities for HGV and LGV vehicles to meet DVSA and company standards.
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, VOSA, and company policies.
* Manage budgets, cost controls, and KPI performance across productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
* Liaise with customers, suppliers, and OEM partners to maintain excellent service delivery and long‑term relationships.
* Identify and implement operational improvements to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime.
* Maintain accurate service records, audit documentation, and compliance logs.
* Coordinate with senior management to align depot operations with wider business objectives.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Depot Manager, Workshop Manager, or Service Manager within the HGV or Commercial Vehicle sector.
* Strong technical understanding of heavy vehicle maintenance and DVSA standards.
* Excellent leadership and people management skills with a focus on team development.
* Confident in financial management, KPI tracking, and performance reporting.
* Exceptional communication and organisational abilities.
* Commitment to health, safety, and compliance excellence.
* Full UK Driving Licence (Category C or C+E preferred).
