Are you an apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer looking to develop your skills within one of the UK's most automated distribution environments?
We are working with a leading pharmaceutical distribution business that plays a critical role in the UK healthcare supply chain. Operating a highly automated distribution centre, the site processes and distributes essential medicines and healthcare products nationwide, relying on advanced automation technology to maintain exceptional service levels.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a large, experienced engineering team where training, development and progression are genuinely encouraged. Whether you're electrically biased, mechanically biased or developing your multi-skilled capability, you'll be supported by experienced engineers and exposed to industry-leading automation systems.

You'll gain experience working on advanced warehouse automation, materials handling equipment and control systems within a structured engineering environment where knowledge sharing and continuous development are part of the culture.
Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance across automated warehouse and distribution systems
Respond to equipment breakdowns and faults to minimise operational downtime
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across automated materials handling equipment
Maintain and support advanced automation systems including conveyors, sortation equipment and automated storage systems
Complete maintenance records accurately using CMMS systems
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
Work closely with operations teams to maximise equipment availability and reliability
Participate in planned maintenance shutdowns and engineering improvement projects
Skills & Qualifications of a Maintenance Engineer:
NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
Electrical or Mechanical maintenance background
Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, warehousing or automated environments
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience using CMMS systems desirable
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies
Strong communication and team-working skills
Mechanically biased engineers looking to develop their electrical and automation knowledge are encouraged to apply.
