The Speech and Language Therapy team at Princess Alexandra Hospital is seeking a senior therapist to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop advanced skills in dysphagia and leadership, or for current Band 5 therapists aiming to progress within the acute setting.
You will independently manage a caseload of adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, actively participate in interdisciplinary decision-making around patient care, and contribute to service development initiatives.
We have 45 hours available per week, suitable for someone seeking full-time hours or for two therapists to work as a job share.
* Manage a caseload of adults with acquired swallowing and communication disorders, and participate in interdisciplinary decision-making.
* Oversee service demands, manage delivery, and communicate pressures to line management, prioritizing caseload and administrative tasks.
* Organize the Speech and Language Therapy service in line with departmental and trust policies.
* Apply evidence-based practices to manage patients with complex neurological needs under supervision.
* Maintain professional registration and adhere to professional body requirements.
* Exercise professional accountability according to the policies of the department and Trust.
