News reporter, Mobile – FTC 6 months contract at Sky. Join a leading entertainment brand and work on some of the UK’s and world’s biggest stories. As a reporter on the Mobile team you will write and break news for large digital audiences, using your keen eye for top‑lines, flair for writing and high journalism standards to engage and grow our readership.
What you'll do
* Be at the forefront of breaking news to significant audiences on our website and app.
* Pitch ideas for news stories, explainers and features, writing to style.
* Research, write and produce stories and original journalism.
* Uphold Sky News’ standards of accuracy.
* Work both independently and as part of a team.
* May work with the live‑blogging team on occasion.
What you'll bring
* First‑class judgement to identify top lines of any story.
* Track record of finding, writing and producing stories to a high standard for recognised news organisations—national or local.
* Experience handling breaking‑news scenarios.
* NCTJ training (or equivalent).
* Knowledge of media law.
* Ability to produce clean, engaging copy at pace and under pressure.
* Flexibility to adjust work patterns when events require.
