We’re recruiting for Care Coordinators to earn £12.21 per hour. Career progression and flexible shifts available. Care Coordinators pay: £12.21 per hour Care Coordinators Role: As Care Co-Ordinator, the role is to be part of and to support the management team in all aspects of the home’s management, including possibly taking temporary complete charge during the absence of the manager or of a particular section or unit. To provide leadership to other staff in meeting the personal care needs of service users in ways that respects the dignity of the individual, and promotes independence, equality and social inclusion. To help train “on the job” new and inexperienced members of staff in all aspects of their work. To ensure that the people you look after are always kept safe from harm in line with the care home’s safeguarding policies and are not discriminated against in any way. The care Co-Ordinator is a “hands-on” member of the management team responsible for planning, organising and checking (including the carrying out of spot checks) that care services are provided in line with service agreements and care plans and to the standards required. The post holder will be expected to have previous experience on care work with all the essential personal qualities and a relevant qualification at the appropriate level. The post holder will complete robust administration and safe handling of medication training. Principal responsibilities: * Help to ensure that all care staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere. * Carry out needs assessments as required and complete individual’s care plans reviewing them frequently. * Supervise, lead and support staff in their support of service users who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet. * Supervise, lead and support staff in their support of service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence; help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment. * Help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of care users through talking to them, and sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations. * Supervise staff in their support of service users to keep their rooms and possessions in line with their wishes, helping to make and change beds, tidy rooms and do light cleaning. * Supervise the serving of meals; assist care users at mealtimes if required. * Ensure emergency calls are responded to promptly and people’s urgent needs met in line with the home’s procedures. * Liaise with professionals. * Be hospitable to visitors and guests by answering the door and the telephone; and greeting visitors in line with the home’s standards of “customer care” and generally setting an example to other staff. * Check that staff are following peoples care plans and recording information. * Complete floor/unit checks at the beginning and end of each shift and address any issues that arise. * Report and record all concerns about residents’ care and about the safety of the premises, its facilities and equipment. * Take part in staff and residents’ meetings and also in training activities as required. * Supervise staff and support residents in taking their medicines when trained and competent. * Supervise staff and support residents to use specialist aids and equipment when trained and competent. * Ensure the safe ordering, administration and recording of prescribed medication. * Implement risk assessments. * Work as a team member and be prepared to be flexible in helping to meet the service’s requirements. * Organise care reviews and to be responsible for implementing any changes to care plans. * Assist with staff induction and training as required, and in the cases of new staff, assess their capability to work alone. * Act as an ambassador for the care service, particularly in its dealings with other professionals and agencies involved in a person’s care * Report any discrepancies to management. * Implement structure and manage staff that are working alongside you on the shift. * Support the Deputy and Registered manager in their requirements and standards. * Act as an ambassador for the care service, particularly in its dealings with other professionals and agencies involved in a person’s care. * Comply with medication competency checks that are carried out by management and adhere to any recommendations or actions. * Comply with CQC regulations
