Grounds Maintenance Team Leader – South ManchesterLocation: South ManchesterEmployer: Housing Association (via Service Care Solutions)Hours: 35 hours per week (Cold Season) | 45 hours per week (Warm Season)Pay: £21.20 Per hour PAYE | £27.20 Per hour LTD inc HolidayService Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a respected Housing Association based in Manchester for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to oversee services across the South Manchester area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced grounds maintenance professional looking to take the next step into a leadership role, ensuring high standards of environmental services across residential communities.The RoleAs a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising a team of operatives delivering grounds maintenance services across multiple housing sites. You will ensure work is completed to a high standard, within agreed timescales, and in line with health and safety requirements.Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a team of Grounds Maintenance Operatives across South Manchester.
* Plan, allocate and monitor daily workloads to ensure efficient service delivery.
* Carry out regular site inspections to ensure grounds are maintained to agreed standards.
* Provide on-site support, guidance and training to team members where required.
* Complete and manage administrative tasks, including work records, inspection reports and scheduling.
* Liaise with residents, housing officers and other stakeholders regarding grounds maintenance services.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments and safe working practices.
* Monitor quality of work and address any issues or complaints promptly.
* Assist with hands-on grounds maintenance duties when required.
* Ensure tools, vehicles and equipment are maintained and used correctly.
Requirements
* Previous experience within grounds maintenance or environmental services.
* Experience leading or supervising a team within a similar environment.
* Strong knowledge of grounds maintenance practices (grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, seasonal work etc.).
* Good organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to carry out site inspections and maintain accurate records.
* Understanding of health and safety requirements within outdoor maintenance work.
* Full UK Driving License
