We are looking for an experienced Category Manager, who hasa passion to enhance their career, stays on top of the latest trends, and wantsto drive growth in this dynamic space. THISROLE IS BASED IN CHRISTCHURCH ON-SITE
What you will be doing
* Develop & Implement Category Strategies: Shape and executestrategies that align with market trends and customer demand.
* Product Trends & Market Analysis: Stay ahead of thelatest trends, analyse competitor activity, and track product performance.
* Supplier Relationships: Build and manage relationships with keysuppliers to negotiate the best deals and ensure timely delivery.
* Product Assortment & Pricing: Curate an exciting andtrend-forward product range while maintaining competitive pricing andprofitability.
* Promotions & Campaigns: Collaborate with the Marketing team todesign and execute promotional campaigns that drive sales and build brandawareness.
* Sales Performance Monitoring: Regularly analyse sales data toidentify growth opportunities and optimise product categories.
* Testing and trailing the newest products: Determine how to drivethe strategy and bring the latest products to market
What you bring to the role
* Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with suppliers.
* Ability to interpret market insights and drive category growth.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Commercial acumen, with proficiency in Excel and inventory management systems.
* Experience in large-scale buying is highly regarded.
* Familiarity with NetSuite and TONIQ software is a bonus.
