Job Description
This role is responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities across HVAC and associated systems, supporting operational reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction within a commercial or corporate facilities environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Work in partnership with the campus facilities team to deliver a high-quality workplace environment for the client.
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in line with agreed schedules to maximise plant reliability, efficiency, and lifespan.
* Undertake reactive maintenance and fault response activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
* Perform fault finding, diagnosis, and repair across HVAC and associated mechanical systems.
* Follow and uphold on-site Quality Assurance procedures, ensuring works are completed to the required standard and accurately documented.
* Respond promptly to helpdesk requests and engineering call-outs, maintaining clear communication throughout.
* Co‑ordinate and manage the initial response to client-generated requests, ensuring service levels and expectations are met.
* Supervise and liaise with specialist subcontractors, ensuring works are carried out safely, compliantly, and to the required quality standards.
Professional and Personal Competencies & Qualifications
* Proven experience as an HVAC / Mechanical Engineer within a commercial or corporate FM environment.
* Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and controls, fault finding and diagnostics, and planned maintenance best practices.
* Experience working in critical or high-profile environments (desirable).
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
* Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach.
* Experience using CAFM systems (desirable).
* Full UK driving licence – required for travel to other sites.
