Thank you for your interest in this post at Outwood Alternative Provision Eston.
Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is an innovative centre mainly for students from Outwood Academies in the Northern Region needing additional behavioural, social, emotional, or mental health support. Our commitment to inclusion means supporting vulnerable students who display challenging behaviours and are at risk of exclusions.
With smaller class sizes than mainstream academies, this KS3/4 provision emphasizes personal development and student wellbeing, while maintaining academic rigour. Our goal is to enable all students to achieve and confidently progress to their next stage, whether in education, employment, or training.
We are an inclusive, caring centre recently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We aim to meet our students' needs by supporting those with SEND and disadvantages, many of whom face significant barriers to learning and adverse childhood experiences.
The Advanced Teaching Assistant will support teachers in promoting progress and attainment by supervising small groups or individual students, working flexibly across various environments, including online learning. This may involve assisting students across multiple lessons and subjects simultaneously.
The ideal candidate will have Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths or equivalent, a Level 3 qualification related to working with children and young people, strong IT skills, good communication skills, approachability, and a positive attitude towards staff and students.
