HR Advisor (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)
Kidderminster, Worcestershire (On-site)
Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm, Friday 8am to 1pm
£29,800 to £43,00 DOE
We're working with an established and highly regarded manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced HR Advisor. This will be on an initial 12-month fixed term contract, with a particular focus on supporting and driving recruitment activity across the business. The Role
As HR Advisor, you will provide professional, practical guidance across a wide range of HR activities, ensuring best practice and compliance at all times.
Responsibilities:
HR Operations
* Providing expert advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
* Managing employee documentation including contracts, benefits, and HR records
* Maintaining and updating the HRIS to ensure accuracy and efficiency
* Supporting attendance management, including absence reviews
* Administering family-friendly policies (maternity, paternity, parental leave)
Recruitment
* Supporting end-to-end recruitment activity, including advertising, agency liaison, and interviewing
* Assisting with assessment centres and candidate selection
* Managing relationships with temporary labour suppliers to meet operational demandsPlaying a key role in ensuring a strong pipeline of talent aligned to business needs
Employee Relations
* Supporting a range of employee relations matters
* Managing disciplinary and grievance processes up to final written warning
* Coaching managers to build capability and improve team performance
* Running HR "surgery" sessions to support employee queries
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Promoting a strong safety culture and supporting a zero-harm environment
* Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures
* Supporting site-wide adherence to policies and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
Essential:
* CIPD Level 3 (minimum)
* Proven experience in a HR Generalist/Advisor role
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law
* Experience working in a unionised environment
* Ability to coach and influence managers effectively
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* IT proficiency (Microsoft Office and HR systems)
Desirable:
* CIPD Level 5 or working towards
* Experience within manufacturing or engineering environments
* Experience within a larger or complex organisation
* Familiarity with HR systems such as Cascade
