Leader Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school based in Ashington, Northumberland.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support within a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom.
Assist the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons.
Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to help pupils achieve learning and behavioural goals.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage confidence and engagement.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all learners.
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (essential).
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
