We are looking for a reliable, organised bookkeeper/accounts assistant to join a small finance team on a temporary basis working 2 or 3 days a week based at Great Blakenham IP6. This will be a temporary finance job to start ASAP before Christmas into early January 2026.
Your new role
In this temporary part-time bookkeeper role, you will be working in the finance team finance undertaking the following duties:
1. Purchase ledger invoice processing — enter and code supplier invoices, match to POs where applicable, and prepare supplier payments.
2. Credit control — chase overdue invoices, manage debtormunications, and escalate issues to management.
3. Receipt allocation — post customer receipts, reconcile unallocated payments, and resolve allocation queries.
4. Bank reconciliation — perform regular reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and prepare reconciliation reports.
5. Support month‑end tasks and ad hoc finance projects as required
6. Systems: Sage Line 50 or Sage 200 experience ideally required.
What you'll need to succeed
As explained, this is a temporary part-time bookkeeper job to start next week, so you need to be immediately available and have your own transport, as they are based on the outskirts of Ipswich at Great Blakenham IP6. You will have general finance experience from ledger processing, bank reconciliations, credit control and allocating payments ideally with experience of Sage Line 50 or Sage 200.
What you'll get in return
You will be employed as an agency worker via Hays Accountancy & Finance at an hourly rate of between £ to £ per hour depending on your experience, which will include your holiday pay.
