Location: Bristol – 2x a week
*Must have exp with Java based Financial Data systems.
We’re partnering with an innovative SaaS Data business to find an exceptional Engineering Manager who can lead their talented software development team. This is a pivotal role within a company that’s shaping the future of data solutions for financial services clients.
This is your opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-paced organisation where your leadership, technical expertise (java, Spring Boot and AWS), and strategic insight will drive the delivery of mission-critical software solutions. You'll work closely with a skilled Product Management team and experienced engineers to deliver a product that meets the demands of high-volume, high-reliability systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire multi-disciplinary software engineering teams to deliver outstanding results.
* Own and manage the software delivery roadmap, aligned with business priorities set by Product Management.
* Represent the engineering function internally and externally, ensuring customer-reported issues are addressed and supporting pre-sales, sales, and customer success teams.
* Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to share best practices, components, and processes across the business.
* Ensure teams operate effectively, adhering to company policies and reporting requirements.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience managing high-performing software development and QA teams.
* Strong technical background, with expertise in Java development, Spring Boot and AWS.
* Skilled at motivating and mentoring engineering teams, fostering growth and leadership development.
* A solid understanding of the financial services sector, including delivering mission-critical, high-volume, near real-time systems.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and represent the business to clients.
* Demonstrable experience working with Product Management to balance competing priorities and deliver a development roadmap.
* Adaptable and capable of effectively managing and communicating changes.
