Are you an Electrical Engineer with experience working with Production Machinery?
CAST UK is supporting a fantastic manufacturing business in the Rochdale area with a new hire into their R&D function.
As R&D Process Engineer you will be working on a high‑profile project focused on the advancement of the business' existing vacuum coating process, as well as supporting with other R&D projects such as NPD / Customer Trials.
This is a great opportunity to join a close‑knit function, working for an international manufacturing business with an impressive customer portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Play a key role in leading R&D activities for vacuum coating processes
* Drive innovation and enhancements in machine performance
* Lead the testing, operation and optimisation of the R&D test rig to facilitate trials
* Support the laboratory team with other R&D projects and participate in customer trials and product performance analysis
Ideal skills and experience
* Strong background in Electrical Engineering with previous experience working on / commissioning production machinery within a manufacturing setting
* Qualification in Electrical Engineering (HNC/HND or above)
* Exposure to / understanding of roll to roll manufacturing, coatings, flexible packaging materials or barrier
* Vacuum Coating / Substrates knowledge would be highly desirable
* Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with experience of writing technical reports
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams across the business
* High attention to detail with strong problem solving skills
