Assistant Project Manager role:
We are looking to strengthen our Project Delivery team with an Assistant Project Manager based in Derby, with hybrid working arrangements available.
You will report directly to the Head of Operations and your role will involve managing a portfolio of projects, leading project governance, supply chain relationships, takeovers, and client-facing outputs. You will support the development and continuous improvement of the project team and supply chain, aiming to deliver enhanced health, safety, quality & environmental outcomes, customer satisfaction, and commercial success.

Key responsibilities:
* Supporting the project team to ensure compliance with all legal and industry standards impacted by the project.
* Ensuring health & safety management arrangements and personnel are in place throughout the project.
* Administering the Project Management Plan, ensuring Quality Assurance is incorporated.
* Deploying the MWHT Business Management System.
* Ensuring all staff on the project are adequately trained and experienced.
* Understanding all aspects of the client contract and related supply chain contracts.
* Supporting Quantity Surveyors (QS) with supply chain notifications regarding EWN’s, CE’s, CI, or scope changes.
* Working with QS to keep project costs within allowances.
* Collaborating with LDE & QS to manage internal design costs.
* Becoming proficient in the use of client’s digital platforms.
* Communicating project outputs effectively to design and construction teams.
* Managing stakeholder accountability related to programme obligations.
* Escalating key issues and risks to the Contracts Manager or QS with mitigation plans.
* Implementing MWHT quality management and reporting, and managing client KPIs.
* Driving continuous improvement against contractual KPIs.
* Leading project governance from a client perspective, ensuring documentation progress with the Contracts Manager.
* Assisting in resource profiling of the project programme and team.
* Supporting Site Manager with look-ahead and supply chain progress reporting.
About The Candidate
Essential:
* Educated to HND/HNC and vocational/professional/management qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Good knowledge of relevant H&S legislation and CDM duty holder relationships.
* Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects.
* Experience in stakeholder management (internal & external).
* Excellent communication skills.
* Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work under pressure.
* Full driving licence.
Desirable:
* Experience in water treatment plants.
* Familiarity with digital delivery tools.
