Manager Power and Utilities – Energy Regulation & Policy role within the Infrastructure Advisory Group. The Power & Utilities team provides strategic, regulatory, financial, and policy advice to energy networks and utilities clients, helping structure investments, navigate regulatory regimes, and support major transactions.
Responsibilities
* Contribute toward the team’s energy networks business, working with sector and subject matter experts.
* Develop an understanding of Ofgem’s RIIO price controls and the wider regulatory framework.
* Build relationships with key clients across the sector and with other advisors.
* Advise on regulatory strategy, core elements of regulated price controls, regulatory policy developments, and evolving institutional arrangements within the sector.
* Support energy regulation expertise in terms of major transactions.
* Apply a structured strategic approach to problem solving, drawing on established economic principles while allowing for creative thinking.
* Engage in a mix of report drafting, economic (including quantitative) analysis, and client interaction; manage projects from conception to completion as a manager.
What you will need to do it
* Passion to learn and develop in the sector, with personal responsibility for the quality of deliverables.
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for utility companies, microeconomics, and regulatory finance (ideally all three).
* Strategic thinking with the ability to bring new insights to evolving industry problems.
* Developed analytical skills to provide innovative solutions.
* Highly motivated, ambitious self-starter with openness to opportunity.
Successful applicants will demonstrate
* Experience in the utilities sector (industry, regulator, or consultant) ideally with energy network sector experience.
* Comfort with presenting to clients and strong report writing, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Core hubs for this role are London Canary Wharf; we are open to professionals across the country with flexibility on office work, home working, flexible hours, and part-time options. If you require flexibility, discuss with our team.
London Canary Wharf and 20 sites across the UK provide potential flexibility in arrangement.
