Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics, Schwarzman Centre, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 6GC Contract type Fixed Term (2 years) from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2027 Hours Full time About the role The Humanities Division, University of Oxford wishes to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Medieval Irish Language and Literature for a fixed term of three years starting on 1 October 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The successful candidate should normally have received the degree of PhD in the field of Irish Literature before 1700, or at least have submitted a completed doctoral dissertation for examination by the closing date for applications to this post. Candidates must have an outstanding research record appropriate to the stage of their career with evidence of, or evidence of potential for producing, significant research in the field. They must provide evidence of the ability to provide excellent teaching and must have the ability and willingness to assume pastoral responsibilities associated with undergraduate and graduate teaching, and to act as an assessor at graduate and undergraduate level.
