This role may well suit you! We are recruiting a Mobile Mechanical Plant Fitter to join our friendly team covering the Yorkshire region. This key role will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our Pave plant equipment, including rollers, pavers, and JCBs. You will be part of our 24/7 engineering team maintaining plant equipment primarily on motorways and local authority roads in the region.
If you have experience maintaining agricultural equipment, including JCB tractors, combine harvesters, or paving plant equipment, then this is the ideal role for you.
This Mobile Mechanical Plant Fitter role will cover the whole of Yorkshire and also link with our Salford site. It is easily accessible from Bradford, Leeds, Salford, Wakefield, Pontefract, Sheffield, Worksop, Castleford, Rothwell, Oulton, Swillington, Garforth, Wetherby, Whinmoor, Oakwood, Dewsbury, Headingley, Otley, Halifax, and surrounding areas.

Role Responsibilities
* Responding to plant breakdowns – ensuring assets are returned to production promptly, with follow-up on temporary fixes with permanent solutions.
* Undertaking emergency breakdown repairs efficiently on all production equipment.
* Owning small-scale projects and delivering them pragmatically and proactively.
* Taking a cost-conscious approach to maintenance activities and coordinating with contractors and suppliers on-site.
* Participating in root cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures.
* Contributing to continuous improvement of the engineering function through observations and experience.
* Working with risk assessments and method statements, contributing to safe working methods for repairs.
* Maintaining and promoting Health & Safety rules and procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
* Utilising the computerised maintenance management system to record all work, fault descriptions, spares used, and repairs carried out.
The Ideal Candidate
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, able to work with minimal supervision.
* Proven experience working within an industrial, agricultural, or similar environment as a Mobile Fitter.
* Recognised apprenticeship (preferably higher-level), ONC/HNC (desirable).
* Strong practical mechanical systems background (conveyors, drive systems, pavers, motors, belts, pumps, gearboxes, crushers, vibratory screens).
* Welding and fabricating skills, capable of removing and fitting bearings.
* Fault-finding ability, capable of timely emergency repairs.
* IT literate, capable of using PCs and company systems.
* Knowledge of SHE risks and safe working practices.
* Flexible to attend training courses and travel across Yorkshire.
* Possess CPC or willing to train; full UK driving license with less than 6 points.
