SG Technologies - part of the Neo Performance Materials Group, is a global leader in the production of high-performance magnetic components and assemblies. Our products are shipped worldwide to high end automotive and consumer products customers such as Bosch, Caterpillar, and YASA. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Materials Planner/ Buyer to join our team. This role is responsible for procuring and managing the flow of materials and products to ensure production demands are met while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The successful candidate will ensure a smooth, efficient, accurate, and timely flow of materials into the business to support production plans, new product introductions, and ultimately on-time delivery to our customers. Responsibilities will include: Analyse and forecast material requirements to support production schedules and new product introductions. Raise and manage purchase orders, expedite deliveries, and mitigate material shortages. Develop and manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, and risk control. Monitor inventory levels in line with company stock policies and identify cost-saving opportunities. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (production, engineering, quality, finance) to ensure alignment. Prepare reports and drive continuous improvement within materials planning and purchasing processes. Required Skills and Experience: Relevant experience or training in materials planning, procurement, or supply chain (or equivalent experience). CIPS qualification (desirable but not essential) Strong working knowledge of MRP systems, Microsoft Office, contract law, and technical drawings/specifications. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and data interpretation skills. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and work calmly under pressure. Strong communication skills with a professional approach and attention to detail. Valid UK driving licence Work pattern: Full time 37.5-hour week Monday to Thursday 8.30am 5pm, Friday 8.30am 2.30pm. After successfully passing probation, you will be eligible to use our flexitime system working around a core hour system with the potential to work a 9-day fortnight.
