Project Manager – Bristol The project manager role shall define the organisation, communicate with internal departments and suppliers, identify project risks and control measures, schedule project meetings, monitor project performance and communicate with the customers. The project manager shall ensure all requirements are in place and prepare for handover of the project for business as usual, identifying lesson learnt and recommendations to close the project. Project governance is provided at stage gate reviews and the project manager shall gain authority for each project to progress through the lifecycle of bid, initiate, mobilise, delivery and close-out. Reporting into the Senior Project Manager you will undertake Project Mobilisation activities for Light Maintenance, Heavy Maintenance workstreams and Facilities as assigned. What You’ll Do: Responsible for all areas of assigned project delivery including not limited to: Tracking & reporting on performance against the project plan to agreed timescales. Recording and managing project issues and Risk. Support the HM Managers with the management of Project change. Tracking Project finance through periodic dashboard. Managing Stakeholders and Liaising with suppliers. Initiating Project closure, including conducting lessons learnt and benefits reviews. Coordinating Project meetings and managing subsequent actions. Ensuring HM Projects adhere to the processes, controls and structured detailed in the HM Process Document. Support and generate various continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of the overall Project team. Prepare periodic Dashboard data for all project workstreams with analysis and insights that enable members of the project team to identify actions for margin enhancement, efficiencies and risk management. Maintain a project margin tracker for each HM project, reflecting the cost, revenue impact and the margin evolution of each project, to demonstrate the value added through Contract Variations. Ensure PM team representation in periodic reviews with the Operations team (i.e. Depot Capacity / Pipeline Planning). Establish a database of project cost data (e.g. costs per activity/unit, hours per activity/unit, material, and non-stock costs per unit), based on actual delivery performance from past and current projects to better inform future bids and allow comparison across similar HM and LM projects between depots. Experience Demonstrated success in project management within the rail sector or a comparable industry such as construction, engineering, automotive, or aviation. Track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope. Key Skills Exceptional time management and organisational abilities. Resilience under pressure with a proactive, solution-focused mindset. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Qualifications Recognised project management certification (e.g., APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent). Additional training or credentials in leadership or change management are a plus.
