Job Description
As a Collection and Delivery Driver for DPD, you'll be the face of our company and play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:
* Serving as the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service when collecting or delivering parcels
* Starting your shift at the depot, where you'll be responsible for efficiently loading parcels onto your 3.5 tonne van
* Following a daily delivery schedule and managing your route effectively to ensure timely collections and deliveries
* Safely operating and maintaining the 3.5 tonne van, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
* Accurately scanning and recording parcel information using handheld devices
* Collecting signatures and other necessary proof of delivery from customers
* Promptly reporting any delivery issues, vehicle problems, or customer concerns to your supervisor
* Maintaining a clean and organised van, conducting daily vehicle checks, and reporting any maintenance needs
* Adapting to changing weather conditions and adjusting your delivery approach accordingly
* Collaborating with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and efficient parcel sorting
* Wearing the provided uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty

Qualifications
What we're looking for:
* Held a full UK driving licence and had regular driving experience for 12 months or more
* Recognise the value of providing great customer service
* Can work to deadlines, are flexible, and always go above and beyond
* Are friendly, approachable, positive, resourceful, and professional
* Are able to multi-task and problem solve
* Have the ability to lift, load, and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg
* Possess excellent time management and organisational skills
* Have a good level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
* Can work independently and as part of a team
* Have basic computer skills and the ability to use handheld devices
* Are comfortable working in various weather conditions
* Have a good knowledge of local roads and geography
The following would be advantageous but not essential:
* Previous experience in a delivery or logistics role
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the transport industry
