Grounds Maintenance Operative Location: Epsom (Static site) Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay) Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm start ASAP About the role: You will be working on a static site, maintaining private residential areas and communal spaces. The role will involve: Hedge cutting (majority of the work) General grounds maintenance duties Keeping outdoor areas clean, tidy, and well-presented Requirements: Previous grounds maintenance experience preferred Must have steel toe cap boots Hays are currently recruiting for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to work on a large site in Epsom. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and skilled operative with a strong background in landscaping and grounds maintenance. The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high standard of grounds maintenance and landscaping across the site, ensuring all external areas are maintained safely, efficiently, and to specification. Key Responsibilities Carrying out all aspects of lawn care, including mowing, fertilising, moss control and reseeding Plant, shrub and tree maintenance, including planting, pruning, pest and insect control, and feeding Maintaining paved and decked areas through pressure washing, cleaning, algaecide treatment, sealing and oiling Completing soft landscaping duties such as turfing, planting flower beds and shrubs, mulching, barking, weed control, hedge trimming and strimming Operating and maintaining irrigation and water systems Safe operation and routine maintenance of tools and machinery, including mowers, blowers, hedge trimmers, long-arm trimmers, scarifiers, pressure washers and wood chippers Following written maintenance plans and schedules for weekly and seasonal tasks Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements, including the safe use of vehicles, equipment and machinery Ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, including waste management regulations Requirements Proven experience within grounds maintenance or landscaping Full UK driving licence (essential) Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, hardworking and detail-focused approach What You'll Get Competitive pay of £15.00 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay) Support from a dedicated Hays consultant If you're interested in this role and have the relevant experience, apply now or contact Hays for more information.
