About the role
This role will reside within the Life business unit as part of the Change & Transformation team, providing oversight and assurance on all aspects of business change and transformation delivery for the Life business. The responsibilities include owning the end‑to‑end delivery of medium to highly complex projects, driving the definition of the business case, project objectives, scope, resources, and expected business outcomes and ensuring the delivery of the required benefits.
Key responsibilities
* Own the end‑to‑end delivery of medium to highly complex projects, identifying key business stakeholders and defining business case, project objectives, scope, resources and expected benefits.
* Communicate project outcomes and benefits across the organisation to garner support and buy‑in.
* Create and maintain high quality project plans with built‑in risk mitigation strategies and work packages that support delivery.
* Evaluate delivery options and team performance, providing feedback and adjusting plans against scope, schedule, budget, risks and benefits.
* Provide regular forecasts of future Change and BAU resources required for the project.
* Ensure benefits and outcomes are delivered within specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, benefit and risk.
* Undertake regular lessons‑learnt sessions and implement recommendations to improve the project team’s learning.
* Adhere to governance standards, maintain accurate RACI, RAID logs and Service Now records.
* Produce timely management information ensuring all mandatory documentation is completed and signed off at the appropriate stages.
* Forecast future external costs, understand cost variance drivers and take actions to control costs.
* Monitor and report progress to impacted stakeholders, including ongoing business case viability.
* Identify and own issues, risks and dependencies, mitigating or removing them and escalating where appropriate.
* Complete handover to BAU and business benefits realisation activities to close projects.
* Manage resource planning and motivate the project team to achieve high output and customer satisfaction.
* Manage relationships with required teams to achieve timely delivery.
* Support the Lead Programme Management Officer in establishing governance and assuring that the Project Change Standard is applied.
* Conduct training workshops with Project Managers to improve project and change management capabilities.

Experience
* Significant track record of end‑to‑end project delivery, including turning around failing projects.
* Financial Services experience (essential).
* Life and Pensions experience (desirable).
* Risk/Regulatory Change delivery experience (essential).
* Experience leading business, technical and regulatory projects with internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience working in a highly controlled and regulated environment.
* Effective stakeholder management at different levels.
