Destination Education is currently seeking a caring, creative, and dedicated Reception Teacher for a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Walthamstow. About the Role : As the Reception Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality early years education, helping children develop strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social skills. You will plan and deliver engaging and imaginative lessons that support childrens curiosity and creativity through play-based and structured learning. The role involves observing and assessing pupil progress in line with the EYFS framework, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with parents to celebrate achievements and address individual needs.
You will collaborate with a skilled Early Years team, including teaching assistants and the EYFS lead, to create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. The successful teacher will also contribute to the wider school community by taking part in enrichment activities, assemblies, and events that promote the schools nurturing and community-driven ethos. The Ideal Candidate: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Has recent experience teaching in EYFS, ideally in a Reception class.
Demonstrates excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Has a warm, caring approach and a genuine passion for early childhood education.
Can work effectively as part of a team and communicate confidently with parents and carers.
