Daytime Healthcare are assisting a Children\'s Home based in Birmingham to find an experienced Registered Manager to join the team.
As the Registered Manager, you will oversee two children\'s homes in Birmingham supporting young people aged 8–18 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a fantastic opportunity to lead from the front in a dual-home setup, ensuring consistent, high-quality care across both services.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day management of two EBD children\'s homes (both these homes are on the same road and located within 5 minutes of each other).
* Lead, support, and develop two teams to provide a therapeutic, child-centred environment.
* Maintain full compliance with Ofsted and Children\'s Homes Regulations.
* Design and manage personalised care plans that meet each child\'s emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.
* Take overall responsibility for safeguarding in both homes.
* Recruit, mentor, and train staff across both homes, promoting a trauma-informed and learning-focused culture.
* Work in partnership with local authorities, social workers, schools, health professionals, and families.
* Manage rotas, staffing, budgets, and resources across both settings.
Requirements
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Minimum 2 years in a senior role within children\'s residential care.
* Sound understanding of trauma-informed care and safeguarding legislation.
* Full driving licence preferred due to travel between homes and emergency cover responsibilities.
Previous Experience
* Excellent knowledge of Children\'s Homes Regulations, safeguarding law, and Ofsted expectations.
* Proven experience supporting young people with EBD/challenging behaviours.
* Experience managing or deputising in a children\'s residential care setting.
