Job Title: Welder / Fabricator

About the Role
This is a permanent, workshop-based position ideal for a confident Welder / Fabricator with experience in MIG welding and heavy steel fabrication. You will be producing high-quality components used in robust machinery for industries such as construction and mining. Working from detailed engineering drawings, you’ll fabricate and weld mild steel sections between 8mm and 20mm thick.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out MIG welding on mild steel components (8mm to 20mm thickness)
* Fabricate steel structures using a variety of tools including grinders, drills, and saws
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Assemble, weld, and finish fabricated components to a high standard
* Perform quality checks on welds and structures, reworking where required
* Work alongside engineers and production teams to resolve fabrication challenges
* Maintain a clean, organised, and health & safety‑compliant workshop environment
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Welder / Fabricator, ideally in heavy engineering or plant manufacturing
* Strong MIG welding ability with mild steel
* Confident reading technical drawings and working independently
* Skilled in using fabrication tools and equipment
* Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work
* Team‑focused attitude and strong communication skills
* A proactive, hands‑on approach with a commitment to safety
