Junior Architect – Residential Projects (Oxted)Location: Oxted, SurreyExperience: 3–5 yearsRole Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a talented and proactive Junior Architect to join our growing team, focusing on small-scale residential projects including extensions, loft conversions, refurbishments, and internal alterations. The ideal candidate will be confident managing the full planning process, from early-stage design and drawings through to planning submission and approval. This role offers hands-on project ownership, creative flexibility, and the opportunity to develop technical and management skills within a supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end planning process, including preparing design proposals, producing planning drawings, coordinating consultants, and managing submissions.Develop high-quality design concepts, bringing creative flair and strong visual communication skills to each project.Produce accurate and comprehensive technical drawings for planning and small-scale construction packages.Project manage small residential projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and expectations are met.Conduct on-site surveys, prepare feasibility assessments, and support client discussions.Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver smooth project progression.Stay up to date with relevant planning policy, building regulations, and local authority requirements.Skills & Experience3–5 years’ experience in an architectural role, ideally within the residential sector.Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite).Strong understanding of the UK planning system and residential design principles.Excellent technical detailing and drawing skills.Ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously.A proactive mindset with strong communication and organisational skills.Demonstrated design flair with a high standard of presentation work.Experience working independently as well as within a team.Who You AreCreative, organised, and technically capable.Comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept to planning.Keen to progress your architectural skillset in both design and delivery.Based in or able to commute to Oxted, Surrey.
