A K-12 Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the upcoming school year in Melrose, NM. This contract opportunity serves students across grades kindergarten through 12th grade within one to two school buildings. The role offers approximately 35 hours per week from August through May.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload ranging from 40 to 60 students, delivering individualized speech and language therapy services. Therapy sessions will be conducted in dedicated spaces with access to indirect hours for administrative tasks and paid team meetings. The district utilizes an IEP system with provided training for contractors. Supervision arrangements apply based on certification status, with district oversight for supervision when relevant.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
* Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license or certification appropriate for school-based service delivery
* Experience working with K-12 student populations
* Knowledgeable in implementing IEPs and educational speech-language services
* Ability to manage a caseload of up to 60 students efficiently
* Comfortable providing therapy both individually and in small groups
* Strong communication and collaboration skills with school teams
