Overview
Senior Asset Planning Sponsor role at CUPONING PULICIDAD S.L. (Yorkshire Water, Yorkshire region). This is a permanent, full-time position with a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
Location: Sheffield area with up to three days in the office; some travel to wastewater assets may be required; a driving licence is needed. Work type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
What you will do
* Lead End-to-End Catchment Investigations. Own and manage key investigation programmes, ensuring outputs align with tactical and strategic objectives.
* Develop and Maintain Tactical Investment Plans. Collaborate with Asset Planning Sponsors to create and maintain live asset and catchment management plans that support Yorkshire Water’s strategic goals and regulatory commitments.
* Drive Process Development. Identify, define, and implement new processes to support tactical planning. Engage stakeholders to embed technical and process standards across the team.
* Oversee Programme Delivery. Provide oversight across multiple programmes to ensure priorities are aligned with tactical plans. Share risks, insights, and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
* Output Assurance. Support sponsors with technical and programme assurance, ensuring outputs meet programme requirements and are properly documented, filed, and quality assured.
What skills and qualifications you will need
* Asset Management Expertise. Comprehensive understanding of asset management principles and processes with experience in leadership within commercially driven or regulated environments.
* Wastewater Systems Knowledge. Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with wastewater assets and catchment operations.
* Advanced Analytical Capability. Strong analytical mindset to investigate, diagnose, and develop strategic solutions at a catchment level.
* Investment Plan Awareness. Familiarity with AMP8 investment plans and related asset and catchment strategy.
* Leadership & Collaboration. Excellent communication and leadership skills with a track record of collaboration with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
* Leading Performance Investigations. Experience in conducting and leading detailed investigations into performance shortfalls across wastewater assets and catchments.
* Data Proficiency. Ability to interpret asset data types and apply insights to mitigate risks.
* Innovation & Value Creation. Proactive in identifying and trialling new technologies or methods to deliver value.
* Business Case Development. Ability to develop robust business cases with clear articulation of risks and benefits to influence stakeholders.
* Risk Awareness. Understand site risks and proactively manage them through the investigation and delivery lifecycle.
Desirable extras
* Catchment Modelling Proficiency. Familiarity with catchment modelling tools for strategic planning and solution development.
* Regulatory & Environmental Insight. Awareness of regulatory frameworks and environmental policies relevant to wastewater asset management.
* Programme & Portfolio Leadership. Experience in managing complex programmes and portfolios with alignment to strategic objectives.
* Professional Accreditation. Asset management qualification (e.g., IAM or equivalent) or working towards one.
